The sunshine and the crowds are out in full force for the St James’s Place Barbury Horse Trials 2015. The CIC*** feature class remains firmly in the hands of the Barbury kings, Andrew Nicholson & Avebury. Whilst plenty of others were having mixed results in the showjumping, Andrew managed to steer Avebury round the big, undulating track with only a few minor corrections needed. Young Chinese rider, Alex Hau Tian managed a good clear round to take the number 2 slot away from Andrew Nicholson & Nereo who dropped to third.
Meanwhile out on the cross country course the CIC** is causing a lot of problems right across the spectrum. The Owl Hole, The Crocodile Water, The Corners all caused problems for both promising and experienced riders alike. The going would seem to be pretty good, with a really good cushion of grass on the track, and vista here this year are ‘to die for’. All the surrounding fields are full of poppies, morphine poppies, and linseed crops in bloom.
You’ll find a few photos via the link below and I’ll be uploading more later. Hope to see you here…..
