Another great day at the Symm International Horse Trials at Hambleden today, albeit in more misty, overcast, and beset with heavy rain at the end of the day. Sunday is Intermediate Day and thankfully there were a few greys competing to make photography worthwhile.

The woodland setting and the variety of trees really provide some fabulous backdrops, not forgetting the bluebells! It’s also nice to get a compliment like this:
I think @Monty_White's "Greys in the Mist" is one of modern Equestrianism's most arrestingly beautiful photographs ⁂ http://t.co/6stZWDr9Ci

All in all, another great day at Hambleden, and for me a good practice behind the camera and getting used to all the changes needed to camera settings, but next year I’d like to be back at Hambleden with a horse.
Sadly I missed one of my favourite greys, Chris King’s Billy Bounce, but there’s bound to be other chances. I feel sorry for anyone competing late afternoon, when the rain really came down like stair rods, but we were over due some wet weather and Badminton will certainly benefit from not needing so water the course quite as much.
